CENTENNIAL EVENTS

JUNE 18

Members of Post 43 are encouraged to attend the Naperville City Council meeting on June 18, to show support as Mayor Steve Chirico presents a proclamation to Post 43 Commander Don Chasteen, designating June 25 as American Legion Post 43 Day in Naperville.
 

JUNE 3 - JULY 2
The Post will have a display in the lobby of Naperville’s Municipal Center from June 3 to July 2, featuring photos and artifacts from the Post’s history.

JUNE 15

Post 43 will host a special Anniversary Dinner on Saturday, June 15 at Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873.  Medal of Honor recipient Allen Lynch will be the guest speaker.  Members will have the opportunity to purchase a signed copy of his new book, Zero to Hero:  From Bullied Kid to Warrio.

 

JUNE 24 - JULY 22

Banners commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Post 43 and the American Legion will be placed in the downtown area of Washington St. and near the  Naperville Settlement on Aurora Av. on June 24 and will remain in place until July 22nd.

JUNE 25

On June 25, the Post will provide a Color Guard & Honor Guard for the raising of the flag at the Municipal Center to observe Post 43 Day in Naperville.

NOVEMBER

Post 43 is exploring participation with the Naperville Healing Field flag display on Rotary Hill in November.  The display coincides with the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I and the formation of the American Legion
