A note from Pablo Arraya
As you may or may not know, John Prescott is a long time VFW and AL member. He is 98 years old and fought in WWII (Battle of the Bulge). I believe he is our oldest VFW member, and may be our last WWII member. I've known him for many years; his daughter Barb and I were in school together from 1st grade through high school at Naperville Central. This year, since I didn't have any responsibilities with the ceremonies and events, I invited him to ride with me in the Memorial Day Parade in my '66 GTO. He agreed, and the support from the crowd was fantastic. Many came up to the window and shook his hand. I mentioned him to the NCTV Emcee, Joe Kennedy (Annette Wehrli's son), so that he could call him out during the parade. To read this amazing story click on the link below
